Taylor.ai is a personal styling app. You send it photos of clothes you're considering and it tells you what suits you. To do that it needs to know some personal things about you, like your measurements and colouring. This page explains what we keep, why, who helps us process it, and how to delete it.
The short version: we use your information only to give you styling advice. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and you can delete any of it, or your whole account, at any time.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, the name you give us, and a password if you set one. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us. When you sign in we keep a session record, which includes your IP address and browser type.
- Body measurements and proportions: whatever you choose to share, such as height, bust or chest, waist, hips, neck to waist, neck to hips, shoulder width, arm length, inseam, foot length and your usual shoe size and width, plus whether you shop womenswear or menswear.
- Colouring: a description of your skin undertone, depth, contrast, hair and eye colour, and colours that suit you. This comes either from a selfie you upload or from swatches you pick.
- Selfies: if you upload one for colour analysis, we keep the photo until you delete it. You can delete it from your profile and keep the colour results.
- Chats: your messages, the photos you send, the photos shared by links you paste, Taylor.ai's replies, and the shortlists it builds for you. If you share a chat, anyone with its link can read it, including its photos and anything you wrote in it (such as measurements), plus your first name. You can stop sharing at any time and the link stops working.
- Wardrobe and memory: items you tell Taylor.ai you own, and short notes it saves about your plans and preferences (for example “travelling to Japan in December”). You can see and remove both.
- Look book: looks you upload, add from a link, save from chat or import from Pinterest; a written description of each look; and a summary of your taste built from them.
- Capsules: the collections you make, what they're for, and Taylor.ai's review of them. If you share a capsule, anyone with its link can see its name, description, photos and Taylor.ai's verdicts (and its notes, only if you choose), plus your first name. Friends who vote can leave their first name; we keep their votes and a random identifier stored in their browser. Your measurements are never shown. You can stop sharing at any time, and the link stops working.
- Pinterest, if you connect it: your Pinterest username, the boards you choose, and the images and links of pins on those boards. Access is read-only. We store the access tokens Pinterest gives us, encrypted.
We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send, anything unrelated to clothes and styling.
How we use it
- To give you styling and sizing advice that fits your body, colouring, wardrobe and taste.
- To remember your preferences between chats, so you don't have to repeat yourself.
- To send you sign-in and password reset codes by email.
- To keep the service running, secure and free of abuse (for example, limiting how many messages can be sent per hour).
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Anthropic (AI model provider): your messages, photos, selfies and profile details are sent to Anthropic's Claude models to generate replies, read size charts, analyse colouring and describe looks. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf under its commercial terms.
- Neon (database and sign-in, hosted in the United States): stores your account, profile, chats, photos and look book, and runs sign-in.
- Vercel (hosting): runs the website and app.
- Resend (email): delivers sign-in and password reset codes to your email address.
- Google, only if you choose “Continue with Google”: confirms who you are and shares your name, email and profile photo with us.
- SerpAPI and Google, when you ask Taylor.ai to find where to buy something: the search words it writes, and for a reverse image search, the photo of the item (through a link that expires after 10 minutes). Never your name, email or measurements.
- Websites you link to: when you paste a link, we fetch that page and the photo it shares, from our servers. The site sees a request from Taylor.ai, not your name or email.
- Pinterest, only if you connect it: we read the boards you choose. Disconnect at any time from your look book or from your Pinterest settings.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the service.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to run the service: one to keep you signed in, and a short-lived one that secures the Pinterest connection step. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information until you delete it or close your account. You're in control of each piece:
- Delete a chat from the chat header or the sidebar. Its messages, shortlist and photos are removed.
- Delete your selfie, forget remembered notes, and edit your measurements in your profile.
- Remove wardrobe items from your wardrobe, and looks from your look book.
- Disconnect Pinterest from your look book, with the option to remove imported pins.
- Delete your account from your profile. This permanently removes your account and everything linked to it.
Deleted data is removed from our database straight away. Copies held by our providers are deleted on their own schedules, which can take up to about 30 days, for example in database backups.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California (CCPA/CPRA) and the UK and EU (GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or limit how we use it. Most of this you can do yourself in the app. For anything else, email hello@robfan.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, photos are only available to your signed-in account, and third-party access tokens are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password or sign in with an emailed code.
Children
Taylor.ai is for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email.
